Through interviews with his family members, friends, teachers, fellow cadets from the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA), as well as his comrades from the 8 JAK LI Battalion, the film reveals the many facets of his personality and legacy.
Born into an ordinary family in Maharashtra, Pradeep Tathawade nurtured an extraordinary dream of serving the nation. The documentary traces his educational, military, and personal journey, highlighting the determination, hard work, leadership, and unwavering commitment that shaped him into a distinguished Army officer. It is a heartfelt tribute to his courage, sacrifice, and devotion to the country.
For the making of this documentary, director Shekhar Naik undertook an extensive research journey across India, travelling alone to Poonch, Jammu, Srinagar, Kupwara, Leh-Ladakh, Siachen Base Camp, Delhi, Dundigal (Hyderabad), Nashik, Pune, Satara, Belgaum, Kolkata, Agra, and Goa. The film features footage from key locations associated with Major Tathawade’s education, military training, and service. It also includes nearly 60 interviews with his family members, relatives, friends, teachers, and fellow soldiers, providing a deeply personal and authentic account of his life.
Through rare memories, first-hand accounts, and filming at significant military locations, the documentary goes beyond a biographical narrative to become a tribute to all soldiers who make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
